Threat of Nuclear War?

Updated: Mar 1, 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin Defied all logic in a live broadcast early on Thursday morning, when he said,

"Whoever tries to impede us, let alone create threats for our country and its people, must know that the Russian response will be immediate and lead to the consequences you have never seen in history."

President Vladimir Putin escalated tensions Sunday by ordering Russian nuclear forces put on high alert, while the Ukrainian leader, President Zelensky, agreed to talks with Moscow as Putin's troops drove deeper into the country, according to the Associated Press.

Many analysts have understood the "consequences you have never seen in history." to be a threat of nuclear attack made by the Russian President.

“All relevant decisions have been taken. I hope you hear me.” Vladimir Putin Finished his speech.

President Putin cited, "aggressive statements" made by NATO and tough financial sanctions. The directive to put nuclear forces on "high alert" issued by Putin will increase the readiness of Russia's nuclear weapons, also increasing the likelihood of nuclear war.

The Chief Russian news anchor, Dmitry Kiselyov, followed up these remarks by saying on a live broadcast Monday that the West would be blown apart by more than 500 nuclear warheads should they continue to threaten Moscow, according to The Sun.

“This would guarantee destruction of the USA and all other NATO countries." Kiselyov threatened: "Russia’s nuclear arms are delivered by the world’s fastest strategic bombers.

Kiselyov began to justify these actions with reasoning such as: if Russia wasn't part of the world, then "why do we need the world?"
