OPINION: Elon Musk Tweeted Out Good News for Free Speech

Updated: May 2, 2022

Yesterday, the world saw a tweet by Elon Musk, which he eventually pinned to the top of his Twitter profile, that read, “By free speech, I simply mean that which matches the law.”

It was a very welcome tweet, after watching the leftist’s meltdown yesterday, about how “us” conservatives will be using Twitter to spread hate. Once again, we have a massive case of, ‘rules for thee, but not for me.’

This tweet says everything. It is perfect in my eyes, a strong advocate of free speech and the open expression of ideas myself.

It seems like Musk wants free speech that matches the law. This has nothing to do with which side of the political aisle you are on. And I think most people will agree with his statement that “going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”

The only people who would have an issue with that statement are people who have used Twitter in a way that has not been equal and did not show freedom of speech for all.

What Mr. Musk wants to do by getting to the bottom of the algorithms that have been used to censor free speech is one of the most important things that could happen in the world of social media politics.

If the Tesla CEO Elon Musk is successful in his attempt to make Twitter a free speech platform, it will most likely lead to other platforms following suit and a vast neutralization of the politics on social media. Well done Elon Musk.
