When we have an election in this country, it sometimes escapes us that we are not simply electing a public official, but we are also electing a potential leader. And yes, there is a difference. Especially when we are talking about the president. I was talking with a friend who lives in Asia. He said that when we vote in this country the people in HIS country also pay attention; they watch carefully.
Because of this fact, as well as the fact that in the world we live in, we will inevitably face a National Crisis, we need someone who has abilities that go beyond what is simply a learned skill.
Skills that both we and the candidates could easily learn. History has shown that there ARE leaders gifted with abilities that clearly cannot be taught they are given to men and women by God. What would the world be without the Statesmanship of Churchill or Reagan? Their ability to display charisma and grace under pressure and rally nations behind them is not something that is taught.
They do not teach people what to do if you’re a prime minister and your capital is being bombed how to rally the people and use a silver tongue to command authority to save your nation. They also don’t teach you how to maintain your dignity when hit by a ricocheted bullet as with Reagan.
Quite simply things cannot be taught all you can do is pay attention to something very important BEFORE they get into office. It’s quite simple
CHARACTER. In this country, we have a crisis of CHARACTER. When you go to the polls and are (hopefully) following the campaign please look for things beyond a list of things most people can do and look for things they have that not everyone has.
This quote is one I believe everyone should think about when it comes to elections.
Sometimes the best leaders are the ones who aren’t elected. Sometimes those who are elected are not the best leaders.
During election cycles, I often think about those who have not run for office. Those in history who had leadership forced on them. Moses for example ran for his life and started a new one out of communion with his people and his god. Up to the modern day in England when the so-called “Abdication” occurred which coincidentally also placed a shy man with a speech impediment in a position of leadership. Both men are of incredible faith.
I do not think the character is something we should ignore s a quality simply because it is hard to see and hard to find or simply give up trying to for that reason. It is for that exact reason we should try.
Remember that we are not alone in looking for men of character and that when we ask we shall receive and we seek we shall find. Also, our fight is not against flesh and blood.
I agree with you completely. I look at every candidate and picture how then would handle crisis's. Many politicians have the gift of public speaking, but if they shrivel up and hide in a time of crisis, this is not a leader. I am running for Congress in a few years, because I want to make sure I am an expert in politics, economics. speaking, appointing the best leaders around me. and handling any crisis that may come my way.
My years preparing for this has been very hard work. I study from 6 am until 11 at night. I have given up most of my social life, to take this on.
I am writing a book right now about the destruction of the churches in
America. The research I am doing is shocking and eye opening. The best line you said is that our fight in not against flesh and blood. The devil does not want Christians to hear the truth.
